The restaurant is decorated with old music posters with a heavy vibe of the Macon area. Very cool! The service was friendly & attentive. It was more of a tag team service than just one individual serving which I found to be efficient and shows good team work. I had the Layla Brooklyn Omelet which was cooked perfectly as the veggies still had a little crisp to them and the eggs were fluffy, My wife had the salmon biscuit which she said was very good as well. “ We enjoyed lunch/brunch on a Saturday at Famous Mike's of Macon. We selected the restaurant based upon the numerous positive reviews. We were initially worried about having to wait for a table, but being that it was the 4th of July weekend we ended up being some of the only people in the restaurant around 1 pm on a Saturday. The interior is definitely cool with lots of vintage rock memorabilia highlighting the famous artists coming out of Macon. The service was decent but the food was the highlight. Everyone was pleased with what they had ordered. I ordered the Dickey Betts burger Blackened With Bacon, including both Blue and Swiss Cheeses. Apparently it is one of the most popular burgers, and I could definitely see why. Being that they are only open until 3 pm during the week and 2 pm on the weekends, it would have been nice to be able to order from the full breakfast menu all day, or at least all day on the weekends. They do have a limited breakfast menu at lunch with a number of biscuit options and a few breakfast plates. I guess I'll have to return to try their full breakfast menu another time. Finally, one very nice touch was them giving us one of Sweet Melissa's Cinnamon Rolls to try after finding out that this was our first visit to their restaurant. Definitely appreciated... Cheers ”

“ First off I have to start the review off by saying: YES! Simply... YES! Yes to the cheese grits! Yes to the service! Yes to the ambiance! I decided to treat my pops and I to breakfast at Famous Mike's. Having graduated from Mercer over a decade ago, downtown has really built up. I really loved the photos surrounding the wall -- mostly an homage to the Allman Brothers (who used to live in Macon - #funfact) with flashes of Macon's history! Shelby was our server and she was amazing!! From the reccs down to the attentiveness. She made sure we had everything we needed before we had a chance to ask! 10/10 For roughly $30 we had a Feast!!! Now let's get into the deets! I got the Hot 'Lanta French Toast which came with 2 Slices of FT, Choice of Meat, 2 Eggs & Grits. I opted for cheese eggs and cheese grits -- A MUST!! Let me tell you...it has been a LONG TIME I have had true French Toast -- I'm talking OG recipe. Lots of places now seem to just serve toast -- no egg mixture in sight but not Famous Mike's!! Not to keep comparing but most places only give 2 small pieces of bacon -- Not Famous Mike's! 4 thick cut pieces cooked to perfection!!! But I have to say, for me, the star was the cheese grits. I can't wait to go back to create my own grit bowl or order the shrimp and grits! My pops ordered the Whipping Post Pancakes which came with a Short Stack, Choice of Meat, 2 Eggs & Grits. Judging by his empty plate -- I think he thoroughly enjoyed too! All menu items seemed to be named after The Allman Brothers Band songs! Nice touch. Only thing I would add is making sure the coffee was piping hot -- it was lukewarm at best but still decent. I'll be back soon with the whole family! ”

“ Finally grabbed a quick lunch here while in Macon. I must say, this has become an immediate favorite. Just have a seat and they'll take care of you. I thought I would get a burger, but the waitress said her favorite thing on the menu was their biscuits. So I got my favorites: an egg and cheese biscuit and a chicken biscuit. I must say, I'd put these up against any other biscuit I've had in a long time. buttery, soft, delicious. Each meal is cooked to order and arrives at your table piping hot and fresh. As I said: an immediate favorite. Comfort food at its finest. Maybe I will eventually get a burger at Famous Mike's. But not before I have another biscuit. Holler if you're coming with. ”
